Mission Statement
The Colorado
State Management Association is an organization for state employees who seek to
develop leadership and managerial skills by affiliating with others to discuss
issues of interest and
gain knowledge that enriches professional growth.
Our Purpose and Goal
The Colorado State Managment Association (also known as Colorado State Managers Association or CSMA) was founded in 1986. This group of
innovators chartered the Association and set its purpose, goal, and theme: "There
exists within the State of Colorado a group of persons responsible for the various
management and related functions of State Government. Their activities can be improved by
a common association to be called the Colorado State Managment Association. The
Association's goal is to improve the quality of Colorado State Government for the benefit
of the citizens of Colorado within the field of State management."
CSMA's Objectives
 |
To unite professional state employees in government service for constructive
endeavors.
|
 | To encourage improvement of services to the public.
|
 | To improve management within State government through the promotion and
use of methods and techniques that improve control and accountability to the public; and
to further the observance of professional standards and criteria while managing State
activities.
|
 | To contribute to the improvement of education in the field
of government management
|
 | To share information on new developments in management and administration
among members.
|
 |
To improve communication among state employees in the three
branches of State government.
|
Who are we?
CSMA members come from many backgrounds and
disciplines. They are current and future state employees who rely on CSMA to represent the
interests of state managers and to provide an information clearinghouse on key issues
affecting Colorado state employees, allowing them to tap into a vast resource of ideas and
to provide feedback and information to decision-makers within all three branches
of State government.
